Camera running! The Image Creation Hub is all about moving images. Developed in collaboration with the German Association of Television Cameramen (BVFK), this unique area has been created especially for Prolight + Sound.
Shut up, the first one! The set is set up. In addition to a large trade exhibition, an extensive programme on topics that move the (film) industry awaits you.
A wide range of content will enable you to take home first-hand expertise and make new contacts.
The centrepiece of the Image Creation Hub is the Speakers Area, which is set up in the style of a television studio.
The script for this area is also truly Oscar-winning!
Camera College
In the tranquil atmosphere of a seminar room in the Portalhaus, the Camera College offers you 90-minute teaching units with top-class instructors.
The workshops in 2025 focussed on topics including:
- The topic of gimbals (including practical application): When is it the right device for a production? What movement modes are there? What problems can arise during the shoot?
- ‘Vertical format – always the best format?’: To what extent does shooting in portrait format have its justification and advantages? What is an aspect ratio? What should be considered during shooting and editing?
Speakers Area
Here you can generate real expertise and actively carry out exercises with experts.
The programme included, among other things:
- The latest compact drone systems – demonstration with Skynamic (speaker: Gabriel Manz)
- Short workshop: Artemis system from ARRI (speaker: Curt O. Schaller)
- Live demonstration: Steadicam and PoleCam systems (Speakers: Michael Gebendorfer, Matthias Gollmer)
- Drone licence – requirements and qualifications (Speaker: Michael Radeck)
BVFK panels
Exciting talks with industry professionals took place daily, led by moderator Anke Seeling. Among others, cameraman legend Jost Vacano (e.g. ‘Das Boot’, ‘The Neverending Story’, ‘Total Recall’) was present.
The discussion covered current topics in the industry, including:
- Artificial intelligence and copyright – challenges and perspectives
- Movement of drones, cranes & co.: safety and technical challenges
- Sustainability in film and television
- Pseudo self-employment and social status proceedings – current developments
- BVFK professional association: activities, opportunities and challenges
