Colourful, loud, young: That was Prolight + Sound 2024

The event and entertainment technology industry made the exhibition centre in Frankfurt shake over the past four days. In addition to four outdoor stages, numerous performances, live shows and DJ sets, Prolight + Sound also featured exciting panel discussions, keynotes and presentations on the latest trends and products from the light, audio, stage, media and events sectors. An extended education programme attracted international event professionals as well as numerous young talents. Around 25,000 visitors from five continents and more than 100 countries came together in the Main metropolis from 19 to 22 March. Over 500 exhibitors and brands showcased their top innovations and solutions.

Joining forces for the future of the industry: Prolight + Sound 2024 starts in Frankfurt am Main

From 19 to 22 March, the exhibition grounds in Frankfurt will be the meeting place for the global entertainment technology industry. Over 500 exhibitors and brands from 34 countries with an international share of over 50 per cent will present product innovations for impressive events and fascinating audience experiences at Prolight + Sound. In cooperation with associations, companies and other partners, this year the trade fair is presenting new areas and networking events as well as an expanded, bilingual education programme dedicated to current industry topics. From technological innovations and recruiting opportunities to concepts for sustainable events, Prolight + Sound 2024 offers its visitors four days full of inspiration, innovation and entertainment.

The anticipation is building: On 19 March, Prolight + Sound 2024 will welcome the industry to Frankfurt. Prolight + Sound 2024: "Opus German Stage Award" for "FALLING | IN LOVE", special prize for Ensemble Modern

This year, Prolight + Sound, the leading trade fair for the entertainment technology industry, is honouring two projects with the “Opus – German Stage Award” that focus on people as individuals in very different ways: The Grand Show "FALLING | IN LOVE" at the Friedrichstadt-Palast stages the story of a deaf poet in search of love as a breathtaking, innovative play of colours - curated and visually designed by designer icon Jean Paul Gaultier. Ensemble Modern's walk-in sound body at the cresc Biennale 2023 focuses on the individual in relation to the community. The jury honoured the impressive implementation of this project with the special "Opus AVantgarde" prize.

The Image Creation Hub opens up new perspectives at Prolight + Sound 2024

Whether photographed, filmed or now also AI-generated: Images move the world. The dynamics of our time, the pulse of life in all its facets, can in turn be captured particularly impressively in moving images. At the upcoming Prolight + Sound (19 - 22 March 2024), a unique new area will be dedicated to the latter with the Image Creation Hub. The centrepiece is the Speakers Area in the style of a television studio.

"Sinus - Systems Integration Award": exceptional projects to be honored at Prolight + Sound

Museums, conference rooms, amusement parks, installations: In the most diverse areas, the creative use of AV media technology enables the specific transmission of emotions and messages. Since 2004, the "Sinus - Systems Integration Award" has been honoring outstanding achievements in this field and putting them in the spotlight. The award is presented annually at Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt am Main (19 to 22 March 2024). Companies and industry professionals are now invited to submit their showcase projects to the competition.

Opus Award 2024: Prolight + Sound launches application phase

With the upswing of last year's season behind it, the 2023 event industry is shining in new splendor. Many theatres and concert venues took advantage of the Corona pandemic to upgrade their technical equipment and are wowing audiences and critics with even more impressive productions. This year's festival summer and numerous sold-out shows are encouraging evidence of the renewed zest for life. Despite the upswing, however, challenges such as a shortage of skilled workers and rising production costs face the industry with new challenges.

Prolight + Sound and VDT e. V. (Berufsverband der Tonschaffenden) intensify cooperation

Prolight + Sound and VDT e. V. will cooperate even more closely in future. To this end, the leading international trade fair for the entertainment technology industry has become a new supporting member of the professional association for sound professionals and will be represented with its own stand at the upcoming VDT Tonmeistertagung in Düsseldorf from 8 to 11 November 2023. In addition, the two partners will continue the jointly established ProAudio College, which had its premiere in April 2023. At Prolight + Sound 2024 (19 to 22 March), the seminar programme for sound professionals, which has been expanded once again, will again be dedicated to various main topics, will be even more international and will both strengthen the up-and-coming generation in the industry and offer specialised advanced training. Independently of this advanced training series, the VDT will be involved in the event in Frankfurt with an extensive trade fair presence.
