Description

  • Send or receive values to/from any Art-Net or sACN channel/universe via etherCON
  • Send values to any DMX channel or view received DMX signals
  • Locate and remotely configure RDM-compliant fixtures anywhere in the rig
  • Precisely monitor every timing aspect of received DMX and RDM signals
  • Check the correct pin-out of all interconnections within XLR or RJ-45 cables
  • Full-color, sunlight-readable IPS TFT display
  • Li-ion battery, USB-C chargeable

The basic functionalities of the XMT-500 include useful features for DMX, RDM, Art-Net, sACN, signal testing as well as cable testing. While the DMX functionality allows to send values to any DMX channel or observe received signals, the RDM features help to locate and remotely configure RDM-compliant fixtures. Moreover, sACN and Art-Net commands can be sent or viewed in the receive mode. Signal testing helps to check for signal integrity and provides real-time insights into the flow of data-packages and monitors timing aspects of DMX & RDM. Sometimes, issues are simply caused by faulty cables, the cable testing feature scans all pin connections in any 3-pin or 5-pin DMX cable as well as RJ-45 cable automatically. Thanks to the cable test dongle, even installed cables can be easily tested.

A full-color, backlit display provides high contrast visibility while the intuitive menu system and multifunction soft keys make navigation easy. The high-capacity internal Li-ion battery is compatible with common USB-C chargers.

In keeping with the motto “designed to grow with your needs”, the XMT-500 contains an impressive amount of processing power as well as plenty of memory space, which allows to feed the device with new features – complementary or as an upgrade.

Premanaged Gigabit Ethernet Switch

  • Optimized for Art-Net, sACN and Dante
  • Two aggregated trunk ports
  • Groups (IEEE 802.1Q VLANs)
  • Four queue DiffServ (differentiated services) for optimal quality of service (QoS) with the Dante protocol
  • No broadcast bandwidth limitation
  • Two universal power supplies (redundant PSU)
  • Neutrik powerCON inputs and outputs for primary and backup power supply unit
  • Neutrik etherCON sockets for network connection
  • Rack mountable, 1 height unit

The XES-2T6 is a six plus two port Gigabit Ethernet switch with two ports being aggregated to a high throughput, redundant trunk link. The six other ports are individually assignable to groups (IEEE 802.1Q VLANs) that may participate in completely independent networks that do not interfere with each other. Thanks to the graphic OLED display, the encoder knob and a push button for each of the six configurable ports, the switch is intuitive to setup and the configuration is done in next to no time.

The grouping and the redundant fast backbone link make the XES-2T6 an ideal solution for interconnecting the stage with the FOH for instance.

As a layer 2 switch, the XES-2T6 is generally unaware of the application and therefore it works well with any protocol that operates on top of TCP/IP and with many Ethernet based protocols. However, special precautions have been taken to ensure that the XES-2T6 works perfectly with Art-Net, sACN and Dante. The Art-Net specification for example expects the controller to only send data every few seconds or when an update is available. A typical switch might put itself into sleep mode when no traffic is observed, not so the XES-2T6; it stays ready to forward data anytime without delay.

With the increased acceptance of TCP/IP and Ethernet based protocols, the proper operation of the network and its equipment has become critical for many shows. Therefore, it is crucial to professionally plan, configure and install the network for any show or venue. As a measure to further lower the chances of network outages, the XES-2T6 comes equipped with two separate switch mode PSUs that can be powered from two different mains supplies.

Ethernet DMX Node with up to 8 DMX Ports

  • Art-Net and sACN to DMX converter for up to 8 independent universes
  • Supports Art-Net 1 through 4 (DMX and RDM)
  • Supports sACN
  • Up to 8 individually optically isolated DMX ports, each configurable as input or output
  • Graphic display and encoder knob for easy configuration and precise status information
  • Quick access button for each DMX output port for quick selection of Art-Net or sACN universe
  • Neutrik powerCON input and output
  • Universal power supply

XND-4 and XND-8 nodes are user friendly sACN and Art-Net to DMX converter supporting the distribution of up to eight universes of DMX via individually optically isolated DMX ports, each configurable as input or output. Since most major lighting consoles are capable of transmitting Art-Net data, an XND node is all you need in order to take advantage of your console’s networking capability, allowing you to transmit a vast number of universes over one single network cable. In some cases, users may profit from already existing networking infrastructure.

Furthermore, the XND-4 or XND-8 is also perfectly suited to send DMX data to your fixtures from a computer or even from a mobile device. Many light controller programs for PC or Mac support Art-Net output natively and with the help of XND’s DHCP capability, you can even let your workplace network infrastructure do the network configuration of your XND automatically for you.

With its 128x64 pixels OLED display however, configuring the network and setting up your Art-Net or sACN preferences manually is no trouble at all and helpful status information is always at hand.

If two controllers send data to the same universe, XND-4 and XND-8 nodes automatically merge the DMX data, which makes the integration of a second lighting controller straightforward and may prove helpful for fixture testing during the setup of an installation.
