Depence R4

Description

Depence is a unique visualization software worldwide that offers a holistic representation of various multimedia show elements. These include stage lighting, special effects (e.g., fog or fire), lasers, water fountains, fireworks, video projections, and, most recently, drones. As multimedia shows become increasingly complex and challenging, Depence offers the possibility to massively simplify and largely digitalize the workflow in show creation. The visualization makes it possible to save costly and elaborate rehearsals since all show elements and their respective environments can be simulated in a 3D world. Large tours, festivals, or other major events are strictly scheduled. Depence can help alleviate this strict timetable, as its visualization and design features allow for easy work from the studio or on the go.

The Depence Rendering Engine uses the latest technologies and methods and is capable of rendering physically based textures and materials. Particle-based rendering also makes the real-time behavior of light and water appear particularly realistic. For example, in the depiction of water, water pressure, surface tension, density, and real-time lighting are taken into account, while in the lighting area, accurate beams modeled after their real-life counterparts make every stage lighting appear almost photorealistic. Additionally, Depence can accurately visualize real-life models regarding lamp types and models, making it possible to display exclusive multi-LED lamps or special effects. In laser visualization, Depence offers the ability to represent reality in detail. The internal scanner simulation ensures that lasers behave correctly according to their speed and mass. The atmospheric properties of the 3D world also contribute to an overall picture that resembles the real world—particularly through the consideration of fluid-like effects such as humidity and mist. The seamless integration with media servers further enables the incorporation of video media within the visualization. Through various setting and input options, video data can be projected onto or assigned to any 3D surface. Moreover, the Depence Rendering Engine is the first 3D engine to combine high-quality architectural renderings with a complex simulation of show technologies, allowing designers to create multimedia shows directly in a photorealistic environment and subsequently export them as highly professional video animations.

In addition to real-time visualization and video animation creation, Depence offers functions to program and control multimedia shows. The internal programming and sequencer tool enables the creation of shows with all the show elements supported by Depence without relying on external hardware. Thanks to the support of common industry standards, designers who prefer a lighting console can still work directly within the Depence application. Depence’s control capabilities allow not only for managing lighting shows but also for complex water shows. With the help of numerous intelligent and partly autonomous functions, fountain systems can be designed, programmed, controlled, and maintained. For a straightforward and rapid creation of multimedia shows, Depence provides a customizable user interface based on timelines and drag & drop mechanics, so that even complex show sequences can be created and adjusted with just a few mouse clicks. Furthermore, thanks to support for the industry-standard DMX and real values regarding stage equipment, parameters can be used that translate one-to-one to reality. The centerpiece of show programming is the timeline, which enables a straightforward and efficient workflow. With the help of looks, scenes, sequences, and shows—which can additionally be stored in a cloud-based database—the creation of sequences is massively facilitated. Numerous effects provide the necessary flexibility in editing, and the uncompromising import and export of data between Depence and media servers rounds off the workflow. Depence offers a unique user experience by supporting the creation of multimedia shows in their entirety—from the first idea to the final realization.
