BlackTrax is capable of tracking in real time in 6 degrees of freedom with a low latency.

This means using the positional data in 3D (XYZ) and 6D (3D + Yaw, Pitch and Roll) and sending this information to controllers of robotic equipment, such as moving lights, moving scenery, sound reinforcement systems, media projection and robotic cameras, to automate and create a natural relationship of action and reaction between humans, objects and technologies on stage.

BlackTrax tracks and delivers data at a speed of 100 frames per second. This sets the stage for seamless, captivating productions where everything can be synced to deliver a next-level, new
generation of production.

Lighting: BlackTrax sends tracking data to lighting consoles and merges it with a lighting designer’s pre-designed cues. This enables limitless lighting functions, including automated follow spot and zoom/iris size control, innovative lighting effects, and multiple types of tracking with different prediction profiles.

Interactive Media: BlackTrax allows new media artists to become revolutionary in interactive media content and moving projection mapping. BlackTrax helps media servers understand the position, rotation, speed and movement of the performer and/or mapped object simultaneously and in real time. Equipped with this information, you can program Zones, interactivity rules and behavior to automate and create a natural relationship of action and reaction between humans, objects and content.

Spatial Audio: BlackTrax reliably tracks the position, movement and rotation of an
audio source, be it an object or a performer, and sends this positional data to spatial audio
systems to precisely position the audio to its source in a 3D space. This allows a complete
fusion between what you see and what you hear.

Camera: Using the CONVRG software add-on, you can seamlessly bring automated PTZ cameras into the dynamic world of real-time tracking.

Gaming/XR: With CONVRG, use your preferred media engine to create interactive Extended Reality. Render virtual objects in real time from the camera’s view to produce realistic landscapes and surreal effects.

Drones: Fly RC drones into the air, with projection mapping.

Custom Integration: BlackTrax is non-partisan and can integrate with any system that will accept the open source Real-time Tracking Protocol (RTTrP).
