Established technology made better

The LINEAR 5 MK II series is the next logical step in the development of the popular LINEAR 5 series. With more power and weighing in at up to 3 kg lighter, featuring more compact dimensions and the added benefit of digital optimisation via the DSP CONTROL software, it takes day-to-day tasks to a whole new level. New series elements, such as the series’ own subwoofers and the LINEAR 5 MK II 110 XA and 115 XA full-range mid/high units, expand the already very extensive range of applications.

Rotatable horns with optimal dispersion angles for each mid/high unit make them ideal solutions for cluster setups or as stage monitors. Sturdy wooden enclosures ensure durability and investment protection. The wide range of accessories for transportation and weather protection, rigging and assembly make LINEAR 5 MK II a reliable workhorse.

DSP – Powerful and smart

The integrated high-performance DSPs allow tuning of the system with high precision. They provide increased usable sound pressure before distortion sets in and reduce the risk of feedback significantly.

Not only can the four matching presets be accessed directly at the loudspeaker cabinet, but also via Ethernet connection and the DSP CONTROL software for larger system set-ups on a Mac or PC and ad-hoc adjustements.

The DSP Out also allows integration of a non-networked loudspeaker, processing its signal independently of the DSP settings within the loudspeaker using the DSP CONTROL software.

DSP Control – Everything under control at all times and everywhere

Having full control over the entire sound setup, even during the sound check and the show is something that some are already familiar with from large touring systems or the LINEAR 7 and LINEAR 9 series.

HK Audio DSP CONTROL allows remote control of all LINEAR 5 MK II components, from stage monitors to complete PA systems, via network and HK Audio’s proprietary DSP CONTROL software for Mac and PC. The features of the powerful DSPs, such as volume, EQ, limiting, delay and polarity, can thus be accessed directly from the FoH position at any time.

Components that do not have their own DSP technology can be connected to the DSP OUT on the LINEAR 5 MK II speakers and controlled remotely with the same ease. All of the speaker’s DSP functions are available to each DSP OUT, irrespective of and in addition to the DSP setup of the LINEAR 5 MK II speaker.

DSP CONTROL also offers the possibility to access functions such as equalizer, limiter, volume and mute bundled by Sub and Main Groups. This greatly simplifies the management of large speaker setups or multiple venues.

Virtual Units make it possible to create a setup in advance of an event even without connected loudspeakers. On site, the Virtual Units can then be conveniently replaced by the network-compatible loudspeakers of the LINEAR 5 MK II series at the click of a mouse.

Robust housings
Optimized for all application scenarios

The acoustic properties and stability of wood cannot be achieved with any other material in loudspeaker construction. That is why all LINEAR 5 MK II components are built into wooden cabinets made of MDF and birch multiplex. The LINEAR 5 MK II 118 Sub A is completely made of birch multiplex. Despite the robust material, LINEAR 5 MK II is extremely compact and comparatively light. MultiGrip handles ensure easy handling and, together with the optional tilt brackets, provide a secure hold in flight for the mid/high units.

For use as compact, powerful and low-feedback stage monitors, the housings of the LINEAR 5 MK II XA mid/high units are equipped with a 31° monitor slope and offer a safe and firm stand even when lying crosswise. The rotatable horns allow the dispersion angles to be optimally adjusted to the desired setup. The enclosures of the LINEAR 5 MK II FA full-range mid/high units provide more pressure and volume in the bass range.

Smaller, lighter, louder

LINEAR 5 MK II is smaller, lighter and louder than the LINEAR 5 series. With up to 3 kg less weight at the same sound pressure level, the LINEAR 5 MK II 112 XA is the loudest and lightest mid/high unit in its speaker class. The new LINEAR 5 MK II 115 XA offers enormous volume and noticeable structure-borne sound, making it the most powerful and loudest mid/high unit in the series.

LINEAR 5 MK II offers. Mid/high units in all reasonable sizes and standard subwoofers cover all conceivable application scenarios in this speaker class optimally and reliably.

The popular LINEAR 5 series has been completely revised, adapted from the ground up to meet the current requirements of modern sound reinforcement systems and expanded to include the following models:

With the new SI SERIES (System Integrator), HK Audio has unveiled a range of products specifically tailored to meet the needs of today’s installation market.

In cooperation with planners and installers, the products have been made fit for practical use with technical and standard-compliant features as well as a variety of installation options and detailed solutions.

The SI SERIES initially consists of the high-performance P10i and P10j column speakers and the S210 V and S210 P subwoofers.

The i and j versions of the P10 have different vertical dispersion angles, which are a very narrow 5° for the P10i and a wider 15° for the P10j. The directivity of the P10j is asymmetrically (j-shaped) directed downwards, which is achieved by the design alone and without the use of a DSP.

Due to the line arrangement of the transducers and the narrow vertical opening angle, the P10i/j are particularly suitable for large rooms with long reverberation times or for outdoor long-throw applications. The speakers achieve excellent STI values here, while simultaneously ensuring high transmission quality for speech and music in combination with subwoofers.

Both the P10 and S210 P are tested and certified with IP 66 protection, making them ideal for use in particularly demanding outdoor environments. The combination of dustproof and jet-water-proof mid/high unit and subwoofer is unique worldwide and delivers uncompromising audio quality even under the most difficult environmental conditions. The S210 V subwoofer, which has an IP 44 protection rating, is suitable for less demanding outdoor environments.

All P10 speakers are designed for use in voice alarm systems and have been certified under EN 54-24:2008 (type B outdoor use).

Installations in sports facilities and outdoor areas can be carried out quickly and safely thanks to the extensive range of mounting accessories and the certificate of safety against ball throwing in accordance with DIN 18032-3.

All P10 speakers are also available with a high-quality, fully encapsulated 100/70 V transformer with three different power taps (37.5/75/150 W). This allows for very high sound pressure levels to be achieved, making the P10i/j TR particularly suitable for use in integrated (voice) alarm systems.

Over 40 colours are available for visual adaptation, even in challenging environments, meaning interior design or heritage requirements can be implemented straight from the factory.

Smart

The LINEAR 9 family has a high-performance integrated DSP with additional DSP Out. The DSP not only allows users to access the right presets directly on the speakers, but also to set up larger systems on a Mac or PC using an Ethernet connection and even make adjustments mid-event. The DSP Out also makes it possible to integrate a non-networked speaker and process its signal with the DSP CONTROL software.

Professional equipment

All LINEAR 9 speakers have professional connections for safe and smooth operation in the demanding day-to-day rental business. For example, both the mid/high units and the subwoofers have lockable PowerCon and EtherCon connections. All the speaker chassis and drivers used have been specially developed for HK Audio and come from premier suppliers.

Multifunctional cabinet for an even wider range of applications

Thanks to their cabinet shape with integrated 30° slant, the multifunctional speakers are also suitable for use as transverse stage monitors. Both models offer a preset optimised for use as a monitor, which compensates for the overemphasis of the low frequencies caused by ground coupling. The practical functionality is rounded off by the standard rigging points. The combination of a multifunctional cabinet and practical features allows the XA models to be used not only as stage monitors, but also as the ideal front, side or near-fill addition to a larger setup consisting of the LINEAR 9 210 LTA.

The 24 dB crossovers and the newly developed horns with unusually large apertures reduce the overlap between the bass and HF channels to conjure richly detailed, articulate mids. CX 12 – The first class workhorse

With the benefit of its dual-purpose housing, the CX 12 can serve as both an FOH and a monitor speaker. This unit‘s hallmarks include extremely high maximum SPL and excellent speech intelligibility. The CX 12‘s high-frequency horn was optimized using the BEM (Boundary Element Method). Its phase response is uniform; its dynamic range astonishingly wide. All this adds up to a high-definition, strikingly transparent audio image with very precise directivity. What‘s more, multiple units are easily clustered. A high-quality PU finish and a front grille with anticorrosive coating provide armor-like protection on the road. The Speakon Pin Assignment switch on the rear panel sets the input signal to 1 +/- or 2 +/-. The CX 12‘s low-profile housing makes it the stage monitor of choice for demanding performers. It comes in left and right versions for symmetrical monitoring arrays. And if you wish set up a powerful two-way active system, we recommend that you pair this enclosure with HK AUDIO CS 118 or CS 218 subwoofers. • Minimal space requirements

COSMO arrays require very little rigging space. The compressed mode concept means that all the mid/high units are hung in a straight line below each other. There is no curving until the entire array is compressed.

• Minimal personnel requirements

The mid/high units stay straight on top of each other when pre-assembling the array. No force is applied to the system until the last step when the system is compressed. What’s more, because the system is only connected at three points, it can be rigged easily by just one person.

• Easy-to-adjust curvature

As COSMOS’s angle adjustment hardware only serves to limit travel and does not carry any weight, it is quick and easy to adjust the system’s curvature, even if it is already rigged. Simply loosen the tensioning strap, reposition the quick-release pins to set the desired angle and compress the array again.

• Easy, time-saving dismantling

These features also make dismantling the system extremely quick and easy. Once ‘relaxed’, simply place the array on the dolly package by package and effortlessly roll it away.
