Stage technology should function as quietly, lightly, reliably, robustly and invisibly as possible – in the best case without failures and maintenance effort. Machinery must be easy to install, especially in touring business. Typical cable drums reach their technical limits in several respects, especially with regards to the capacity to hold different cables. With the e-spool® from igus, a reliable alternative to the cable drum without slip ring is available, which is ideally suited for noise-sensitive applications. The system is extremely compact and can guide numerous energy, data, fiber optic and control cables as well as pneumatic or hydraulic hoses simultaneously in a very confined space. This means that the system can also be placed invisibly above the auditorium in technical suspended ceilings. With this system, horizontal and vertical guidance of cables and hoses is equally possible. In addition, the e-chain of the e-spool® can be redirected via guide rollers. In terms of construction, this is a combination of two proven igus product families, the durable e-chains and the flexible "twisterband".

An alternative to the e-spool is the classic Zig-zag application. This is a technology that has proven itself over many years in the stage industry and was used for the first time by igus in 1998 at the Royal Opera London. Zig-zag systems are equally used to supply energy to stage platforms or lighting hoists. Zig-zag systems are also successfully used for the power supply of video cubes (as shown in the product picture). This allows several media to be guided without the need for a slip ring. The modular design and flexibility of the igus e-chains allow a creative solution for vertically suspended applications, which is not only cost-effective, but also particularly space-saving and quiet. It is also possible to add or replace cables later on. Therefore, the system can adapt to changing requirements.

drylin® linear guides run on polymer high-performance gliding elements and therefore achieve the best wear and friction coefficients. This principle allows lubricant-free, quiet and maintenance-free operation in dry running. The modular design principle of drylin® linear guides allows a wide range of applications. They are used, among other things, for guiding stage platforms, on actuators of stage machinery, for guiding cable drums and guide rollers, or in decorative parts. They can be found on camera sliders or in moving lights for zoom adjustment. drylin® guides from igus can also be easily operated via spindles or tooth belts. Series in black are also available especially for use in stage technology.

iglidur® PRT slewing ring bearings are ready-to-install slewing rings for lubricant-free dry running. The design is based on maintenance-free gliding elements made of the proven tribologically optimized iglidur® materials from igus in combination with rings made of anodized aluminum. For applications requiring a particularly lightweight design, an all-plastic version is also available. For example, the igus slewing ring bearings are used in moving lights or cameras. The black version of the PRT-04 series is particularly suitable for stage applications – for an inconspicuous appearance and a reduction of light reflections.
